Our Approach

The heart, understood in context.

Cardiovascular disease rarely appears out of nowhere. It develops over decades, shaped by metabolism, inflammation, hormones and lifestyle. Our cardiology service does not just read an ECG — it traces every cardiac risk back to its source, and builds a plan that protects your heart for the long term.

What our cardiology service covers.

Six core areas of cardiac care. Your consultant will guide which assessments and interventions fit your risk profile, symptoms and goals.

01

Cardiac Risk Assessment

Comprehensive evaluation of cardiovascular risk using advanced biomarkers, imaging and genetic insights — not just cholesterol numbers.

02

Heart Rhythm & Arrhythmia

ECG, Holter monitoring and specialist interpretation to detect atrial fibrillation, conduction disorders and covert rhythm disturbance.

03

Heart Failure Management

Early detection and structured management of heart failure with preserved or reduced ejection fraction, integrated with lifestyle and device therapy.

04

Hypertension & Vascular Health

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, vascular stiffness assessment and targeted management of resistant or secondary hypertension.

05

Preventive Cardiology

Coronary calcium scoring, CT angiography and long-term risk reduction strategies for those with family history or emerging risk factors.

06

Integrated Cardiac Imaging

Echocardiography, stress testing and advanced structural assessment, read by our consultant cardiologist in concert with your full health picture.

Department Lead

Led by Dr. Farhan Ashraf, Consultant Cardiologist.

A consultant cardiologist with deep expertise across preventive, advanced imaging and sports cardiology. He leads every cardiac assessment at Lifecore, ensuring that imaging, testing and treatment are interpreted through the lens of your complete health picture — not in isolation.

How it works

Four stages, from concern to confidence.

Cardiology at Lifecore is thorough but never slow. Assessments are completed on the same day where possible, and every result is explained in the context of your life.

01

Consult

A detailed cardiac history, symptom review and risk factor assessment with our consultant cardiologist. Time to talk through what concerns you.

02

Investigate

On-site ECG, echocardiography, blood tests and, where indicated, CT calcium scoring or angiography — reviewed and interpreted during your visit.

03

Plan

A clear, written cardiac plan covering lifestyle, medication, monitoring intervals and any specialist referral or device therapy required.

04

Follow

Scheduled reviews every three to six months, with closer follow-up after any intervention or change in clinical status.

Within the department

The conditions and capabilities we manage.

Cardiology at Lifecore is integrated with functional medicine, endocrinology, pathology and performance. The result is cardiac care that sees the whole person.

01

Coronary Artery Disease

Assessment of chest pain, ischaemia and coronary plaque burden using CT angiography, functional testing and biomarker panels.

02

Atrial Fibrillation

Detection, risk stratification and management of atrial fibrillation, including anticoagulation planning and rhythm control strategy.

03

Heart Failure

Diagnosis, staging and long-term management of heart failure with close monitoring of ejection fraction, fluid status and functional capacity.

04

Hypertension

Comprehensive work-up for primary and secondary hypertension, with ambulatory monitoring and personalised treatment targets.

05

Valvular Heart Disease

Echocardiographic assessment and surveillance of aortic, mitral and tricusvalve disease, with timely referral for intervention when indicated.

06

Cardiac Risk Screening

Executive cardiovascular screening for asymptomatic individuals with risk factors, family history or concern about future cardiac events.

07

Sports Cardiology

Pre-participation screening, arrhythmia evaluation in athletes and safe return-to-play clearance after cardiac events.

08

Integrated Long-Term Care

Every cardiac plan is read against your metabolic, endocrine and functional medicine profile so nothing is treated in isolation.

The Lifecore Difference

Most cardiology clinics treat the heart in isolation. At Lifecore, your cardiac plan is built alongside your metabolic, hormonal and functional medicine profile — because the heart does not beat in a vacuum.

This integration means that a cardiac risk marker is never read alone. It is read against your inflammation, your glucose dynamics, your stress hormones and your training load — and the plan reflects that complete picture.

Frequently asked

Questions about cardiology.

A few of the questions our guests ask most often. If you would like to know more, our cardiology team is happy to talk it through with you.

  • Anyone with chest discomfort, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness, a family history of heart disease, or known risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol should consider cardiac evaluation.

  • Yes. We offer coronary calcium scoring and CT coronary angiography on-site, with results reviewed directly by our consultant cardiologist.

  • Absolutely. Dr. Farhan Ashraf provides pre-participation cardiac screening, arrhythmia evaluation and return-to-play assessment for recreational and professional athletes.

  • Most clients are reviewed every three to six months, with closer follow-up after any procedure, medication change or new symptom.

A heart protected by foresight.

At Lifecore, cardiology is not about reacting to disease. It is about building a complete picture of your cardiovascular health, and acting early — so the heart you rely on today stays strong for decades to come.
